Leaked Court Documents Reveal Big Updates in Jonathan Majors Case

The case against Creed III star Jonathan Majors has taken a bizarre new turn. The Loki star was originally arrested on March 25 and charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly attacking movement coach Grace Jabbari after an altercation in and outside of a taxi cab in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood.

Ahead of a pre-trial hearing on Oct. 25, in which the judge will decide whether to dismiss or proceed with the charges, Rolling Stone and Variety have obtained bombshell court filings which shed doubt on Majors’ defense.

According to Rolling Stone, the prosecutor’s filings accuse Majors’ legal team of misrepresenting evidence and manufacturing claims to discredit Jabbari. The documents also reveal that prosecutor’s are seeking a September 2022 report from the London Metropolitan Police. Though it’s unclear precisely what that report refers to, the court filings reference medical care obtained by Jabbari at that time.

The 115-page filing also alleges Majors’ team leaked the court’s evidence and misrepresented information to fit their narrative, including manufacturing statements to exonerate Majors. According to prosecutors, the defense presented investigators with a statement from the cab driver who was ferrying Majors and Jabbari from Brooklyn to Chelsea on the night of the assault.

However, when the driver was presented with this statement, he claimed he “had never written it, approved it, did not previously know it existed, and that the above statements were all false,” according to prosecutors.

While Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has long claimed that there is evidence, including surveillance footage, showing Jabbari “completely unharmed,” the new documents dispute this. “[The] surveillance video referred to by the defense actually shows Ms. Jabbari visibly upset, crying, and seeking help from strangers to get an Uber cab home,” the documents read.

The revelations come just one day after the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI) for the New York Police Department exclusively confirmed to The Messenger that Jabbari will likewise soon be charged with assault in the incident. Those charges are apparently based on an account of the incident Majors gave to the NYPD back in June. Jabbari has been out of the country since then.

In the filings, prosecutors apparently say that even if the NYPD arrests Jabbari, the court will decline to prosecute any charges brought by the department. “A thorough investigation was conducted into the facts of this case and, in doing so, the People have chosen to prosecute Jonathan Majors,” the documents read.
