(WJW) — One Illinois Kindergarten teacher recently requested parents refrain from sending cupcakes with their children to share during celebrations — and not because of allergy or health reasons.

Instead, Ann Brackemyer, whose TikTok video on the subject has now garnered more than 2 million views, suggested the treats “make a ginormous mess” in her classroom, explaining that the frosting gets everywhere.

One woman wore shorts to a job interview

“Many parents don’t realize what it is actually like in a classroom, so I thought I would offer a suggestion on birthday treats,” she told Fox News Digital regarding the post. “There are many more options besides cupcakes.”

Brackemyer said more welcome desserts would be brownies with sprinkles, cookies, ice cream cups and even Little Debbie snacks.

Of course, when Brackemyer called her opinion “unpopular,” plenty of commenters chimed in saying they’d provide whatever their kid wanted, and not what the teacher wanted. Still others seemed quite open to the suggestions.
