LeBron James' Son Bronny Makes First Public Appearance Since Cardiac Arrest
LeBron James' son Bronny James made his first public appearance after being hospitalized following a cardiac arrest.
The 18-year-old was photographed on the evening of Friday, July 28, with his family—his NBA superstar dad, his mom Savannah James, and siblings Bryce and Zhuri—having dinner at Santa Monica hotspot Giorgio Baldi.
In the photos, shared by The Daily Mail, the teen is seen standing with LeBron while texting on the way out of the restaurant. The dad made sure that his oldest son made it in safely into the car while waiting for the family.
After the pictures were shared that evening, an anonymous source who was reportedly at the restaurant shared details of the gathering with People.
"LeBron brought his family for Friday night dinner. It was of course wonderful to see Bronny after the frightening week. LeBron and the family are regular guests. Everyone was praying for Bronny's recovery," they said.
The source saw that the family was approached by fans, sharing their best wishes to Bronny as he recovers from his medical emergency. LeBron responded by "expressing how grateful he is." They also noted that Bronny "was pretty quiet, but did seem to enjoy the food."
Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday, July 24 during a basketball workout at USC's Galen Center, and was immediately rushed to the hospital, receiving treatment in the ICU. A day after his hospitalization, a spokesperson for the family confirmed that Bronny was in stable condition.
Two days after that update, LeBron released a statement on social media, sharing, "I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I'm so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love." He added that the family "will have more to say when we're ready."
