Our Legacy RTW Fall 2023
The three Swedish founders of Our Legacy, all in their early 40s, looked back on some favorite garments from their formative fashion decade, the ’90s, and their brand archives to produce what they described as a “mixed tape” of their favorite styles.
Jockum Hallin, Cristopher Nying and Richardos Klarén all look like they could be members of an indie rock band and some are: Hallin noted he plays guitar and writes songs for Stockholm band Heaven, which he described as “post-punk.”

He acknowledged a thread of grunge that has run through the brand since it was founded in 2005, seen this season in rugged sweaters that run from big and oversized to short-sleeved, shrunken and worn over loose plaid shirts.
Nying, who is creative director, said he also took some inspiration from his young children, whom he dresses in “vintage stuff,” and his own favorite outfit as a kid: wide-wale corduroys, a striped velour top and a cozy sweater. He noted that even though his mother never let him indulge his interest in motocross, motorcycle style usually figures in the collection, this season as a Swedish “dispatch jacket” with its document pouch on the chest and toggle closures.
A slightly lived-in feel to the clothes heightens the approachability of this fast-growing brand, charting expansion in South Korea and making further inroads with womenswear, which now accounts for about 30 percent of the business, Hallin noted.
