Lenoir hosts several July 4th events

The city of Lenoir is hosting two July 4th events this Thursday, July 4, 2024. One event will cool you off, and the other will light up the sky, according to a press release from the city.

The Fourth of July Splash Bash will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lenoir Aquatic & Fitness Center. The outdoor pool will be open for recreation swimming and there will be pool games with prizes. The slides and toddler pool will be open as well.

Staff plan to hold the pool games from 12 to 1:30 p.m. during lunch. Signups will be limited to the first 10 people per age group. There will be a free swim race, raft race, tug of war, cannonball contest, and diving contest. Sign up at the concessions stand at the outdoor pool. Winners will receive a day pass to the Aquatic Center!

If you don't have a membership, the daily rate is $3.00 for students and seniors, $5.00 per adult who is swimming, and $2.00 for disabled persons. Click the following link for more information, Fourth of July Splash Bash.

The July 4th Celebration will be from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at Mulberry Recreation Center. Besides the fireworks show, there will be live music by Soul Watt, a foam party, and games.

Visit the Parks and Recreation tent the day of the event to sign up for one of the games including wiffle ball, kickball, and cornhole. The fireworks show will start around 9:30 pm.
