Happy August, Leo. During July, Leo season began—and continues through most of this month. And, while you must pass the torch to Virgo, know that it's a promising time to make money, so you hopefully won't feel too sad about it (as much as you love your birthday).
The stars are busy on Sunday, August 4. Venus, which rules money in addition to love and beauty, moves into your opulent 2nd House of Possessions. There are a few caveats. First, remember that when we make predictions using astrology, we're still doing so within the confines of capitalism—no horoscope can guarantee a financial windfall. Additionally, Mercury retrograde begins on the same day, so you might want to hold off on signing contracts. Sunday, August 4 also brings a new moon, the lunation associated with new beginnings. All of this combined means this day is best for setting goals and making plans; the time to put ink to paper arrives later in the month. With that being said, should a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity come your way, don't let a pesky Mercury retrograde stand in your way.
As a Leo, you're a very generous sign. You give the people you love a lot of support and attention. However, don't forget that you're a luxurious lion. You need pets, cat naps, and all of the rest and rewards that you bring others. When Juno, the asteroid of commitment, moves into diplomatic Libra and your 3rd House of Communication on Friday, August 9, your task is to set boundaries. This doesn't have to be harsh, just firm. If someone close to you is taking more than they give, don't be afraid to lean into your bold side and let them know. Additionally, this transit serves as a friendly reminder that it's okay to turn down social invites when you're feeling overwhelmed.
For the next two weeks, honestly, you might be best served to take it easy. On Wednesday, August 14, Mercury retrograde moves into your sign. This isn't a huge cause for concern, but it will mean that travel is trickier, communication mishaps happen, and you might feel a bit frazzled. On Sunday, August 18, your ruling planetary body, the luminous sun, conjuncts the communication planet Mercury, which, of course, is in your sign. This vibe is super creative, but because Mercury is retrograde, it's a day for plotting your novel or writing poems at home.
While August is a cozy month, that doesn't mean that you're going to be alone. On Monday, August 19, there's a bright Aquarius full moon in your 7th House of Partnership, turning your attention to your relationships. Full moons are times of culmination and resolution, even if it can be a bit taxing and intense. Expect to resolve ongoing fights or finally start one because you've been biting your tongue regarding something that's bothering you. If you're dating or hooking up with someone, this full moon could also see ultra-hot and passionate sex. Or, skip the whole other people thing altogether and spend time with a sex toy.
You're called to use creative expression to work through anxiety.
As forewarned, the sun leaves your sign and enters Virgo, kicking off Virgo season on Thursday, August 22. Just because your birthday season is over doesn't mean you have to stop celebrating. With the sun in your 2nd House, work opportunities, chances to increase your revenue, and powerful creative bursts arise. This part of your chart also rules emotions, as we possess those, too. When Ceres, the asteroid of nurturance, ends its retrograde and goes direct in your healing 6th House, you're called to use creative expression to work through anxiety. If you're having trouble sleeping or unwinding, consider journaling or whatever form of self-expression feels right to you to get your worries out.
Mercury retrograde ends while in your sign, Leo, on Wednesday, August 28. When this occurs, deals and negotiations, especially in regard to creative projects, begin to come through. It helps that the next day, on Thursday, August 29, harmonious Venus moves into your 3rd House of Communication. Of course, you can enjoy your creative skills just for yourself and as a way to unwind, but this transit is a gentle reminder that if you want, you have the ability to monetize it and deserve to be paid for your time.
