Leopard Print Was a Festival Fashion Essential at the 2019 Governors Ball
The motif just might be the biggest must-have of the summer.
Governors Ball kicked off summer music festival season on the east coast over the weekend, and attendees arrived on New York City's Randall's Island in their best outfits to see headliners like Tyler, the Creator, Kacey Musgraves, Florence and the Machine, Nas and SZA.
There were a few trends that we expected to see in the crowd — bucket hats, sporty logos and biker shorts, to name a few — but we were pleased to notice how leopard print has officially infiltrated the festival circuit this year. Though, we're not too surprised. The animal motif has been a street style favorite among the fashion crowd since last fall, and at Gov Ball, the spotty design covered dresses, tops and the now-ubiquitous midi skirt. It's a look that's more versatile than you think, and we don't see leopard print's popularity waning anytime soon. In fact, it just might be the "It" item of the summer.
