Lil Nas X’s 6-Inch Claw Boots at ‘Saturday Night Live’ Rehearsals Are the Wildest Things You’ll See Today

Lil Nas X arrived at “Saturday Night Live” rehearsals yesterday in an outfit that brought his signature wild style to the next level.

Flanked by fans, the “Old Town Road” musician made his way to the NBC studios in New York on Thursday in a coordinating off-white ensemble. The outfit included an open shirt-vest with coordinating tailored trousers and a series of necklaces to match.

The real kicker of the 22-year-old’s look came with his choice of footwear. Instead of sneakers or a loafer, Lil Nas X went all out in a pair of sky-high platform boots set atop a jagged outsole. The claw-like pair came with a strapped-in hold across the foot and a lift that appeared to measure close to 6 inches or taller in height.

The musician is no stranger to a bold footwear moment, though. In his “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video, he donned the edgiest thigh-high boots with a latex finish and lifted heel for a pole dancing scene.

Around the same time, Lil Nas X created a sneaker that caused quite the stir this week. The MSCHF x Lil Nas X “Satan Shoes” reimagined a classic Nike Air Max 97 silhouette with black uppers and red detailing, finished off with a symbolic charm.

While the sneaker appeared to have been made in collaboration with Nike, the athletic powerhouse clarified that it had no part in the creation of the shoe. “We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF. Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them,” a Nike spokesperson told FN at the time.

In fact, Nike went on to sue MSCHF Product Studio Inc., the creator of Lil Nas X’s controversial “Satan Shoes,” with a trademark infringement and dilution complaint.
