Lili Reinhart admits she feels insecure doing 'bra/underwear scenes' on 'Riverdale'
Lili Reinhart is speaking out about the pressure that she faces as an actress to have a “perfectly chiseled” physique while filming underwear scenes and the obligation that she feels to put on a confident front despite having body insecurities.
The Riverdale actress got candid on Thursday evening in response to a question on Twitter. According to E! News, the fan’s since-deleted tweet asked about how the show’s cast feels about portraying teens with chiseled physiques, to which Reinhart gave an honest answer.
Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiseled. And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding cast mates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes. I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on tv, what they should- https://t.co/9ISUBkgrKl

“Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiseled,” she tweeted. “And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding cast mates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes.”
The 23-year-old credited the unrealistic expectations put on women in particular for feeling this way, before explaining that she’s had to work to come to terms with her body. “I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in,” she wrote.
look like. But I have come to terms with my body and that I’m not the kind of person you would see walking on a runway during fashion week. I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in.

But even after doing work to accept her body as it was, Reinhart explained that self-confidence is a constant battle, especially after a recent weight gain because of depression.
Obligation to be strong and show confidence in myself, looking as I do. And I want other young women to see my body on tv and feel comfort in the fact that I’m not a size 0. And I’m not a perfect hourglass shape.

This industry struggles with accurate representation of female and male bodies. So I commend the women who have helped our industry take a step in the right ~and authentic~ direction. (Charli Howard being my favorite role model)

As a result, those underwear scenes have again become something she struggles through. However, she hopes that putting her body on-screen will inspire other young women.
“[I] felt it was my obligation to be strong and show confidence in myself, looking as I do. And I want other young women to see my body on tv and feel comfort in the fact that I’m not a size 0. Reinhart’s followers have in turn called her a role model and credited her for teaching them to be confident.
You are so positive and you are one of the reasons I am confident with my body you showed me that it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are we are all beautiful and I love you for that 😍🥰😘😍🥰😘

You and the other women of Riverdale are perfect in my book. You should all be confident and proud. Thank you for bucking the trend of getting skinnier with every season. We like you just the way you are.
