Lili Reinhart hilariously shuts down a body shamer who asks if she's pregnant: 'I'm the dad!'
Lili Reinhart had the perfect response to a Twitter user who questioned whether she’s pregnant.
On Saturday, photos of the 25-year-old Riverdale star at the Venice Film Festival appeared on the social media platform. The actress sported a sparkly champagne top with a lilac skirt as she stepped off a boat. One follower responded to the photos with, “She looks pregnant, any news about that to verify pls?”
Reinhart verified that news herself, by replying, “Yes I am expecting. I’m the dad!!”

The Look Both Ways actress was applauded by her Twitter followers for the quip. One joked, “We've all known for years that you're daddy. People are catching up only now???” Another added, “People are so rude sometimes, congratulations on becoming a dad.”
This is not the first time that Reinhart shut down rumors that she is pregnant. In 2018, she found herself having to defend her body after people claimed she was expecting a child with her then-boyfriend Cole Sprouse.
“It’s unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the internet causes hundreds of people to think that I’m pregnant,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Nope. Not pregnant.”
In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, she explained, “I feel like a lot of people say you should just sweep it under the rug, don’t pay attention to it, but that’s never really been my style. Maybe some people find that obnoxious, but I felt the need to say, ‘No. I'm not pregnant.’
In January, Reinhart shared that she was struggling with her own body image in a candid Instagram post. She wrote, "I didn't think being in this industry, that is so obsessed with women's bodies and weights, could ever mess with my own body acceptance and positivity. But it has. I wish I hadn't grown up in a time where the media worshipped only one size of women."
Reinhart has also called out people who she believes are encouraging body image issues. In May, Reinhart made headlines for criticizing Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala weight loss as setting a dangerous precedent. In an Instagram Story, she shared, "To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are … because you haven't eaten carbs in the last month … all to fit in a f***ing dress? So wrong. So f***ed on 100s of levels.”
In a follow up tweet, Reinhart said of deciding to speak out, “I do not say the things that I say because I want to be relevant or get attention. I speak up because I don’t see enough people with large platforms calling out toxic behavior in our industry. Some people will never understand where I’m coming from and that’s okay.”
