New Limited-Edition Gatorade Flavor Reminds Fans of Their Favorite From the ’90s

Gatorade enthusiasts are excited about a new limited-edition flavor of the sports drink—mostly because it reminds them of their favorite from the '90s.
It's called Midnight Ice, and fans have already compared it to Gatorade's Midnight Thunder flavor that dropped in 1999.
"Given me savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned vibes??????," food blogger Markie Devo declared of the limited-time offering, quoting lyrics from the My Chemical Romance song, "Welcome to the Black Parade."
In his Instagram post about Midnight Ice, Devo noted that 28-ounce bottles are available at 7Eleven, Speedway and Stripes. Meanwhile, a 30-ounce pack can be purchased exclusively at Walmart.
"No description of the actual flavor is available, but by the looks of the dark color, I believe it may taste like grape," he noted.

In the comments, Gatorade drinks reacted to Gatorade's Midnight Ice flavor. Many were optimistic, with one person writing, "It looks so good, hope it’s some type of grape flavor, that is the best one."
Another Instagram user commented, "I hate this I know I’m gonna love this flavor and it’ll be my favorite and then they’ll get rid of it??."
Others immediately thought of Midnight Thunder, like one person who declared, "They brought it back, I remember this one as a kid!"
Someone else shared, "I hope it tastes like midnight thunder!" while another pointed out, "Looks like this is a reboot of Midnight Thunder. Should have the original blackberry taste everyone from the late 90s remembers."
Still, some Instagram users likely wouldn't be trying Midnight Ice, like one person who wrote, "It looks like 10w-40 motor oil ??."
One customer who tasted it shared, "It doesn’t have much of a flavor…kinda grape, but kinda just sweet water/vitamin flavor…?"
