Limited-Edition Mexican Pizza Drops at Taco Bell
Taco Bell is bringing one of its test market items to menus nationwide.
Parade has it on good authority that the Cheesy Jalape?o Mexican Pizza will be available as early as Tuesday, Sept. 7–but only for a limited time.
As Taco Bell loyalists may recall, the brand revealed it would be trying out the potential new menu item in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, last winter. And rumor has it that after its successful test run in Dec. 2022, the option to add the spicy peppers and loads of extra cheese will be made available at participating locations across the country.
The Cheesy Mexican Pizza features seasoned beef and refried beans between two pizza shells with pizza sauce, a three-cheese blend, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, and jalape?os on top, according to the official description of the item.
The limited-edition version of the fan-favorite Mexican Pizza comes just in time to celebrate the one-year return of the menu item, which was first introduced to menus in the mid 1980s before it disappeared in 2020, only to make a massive comeback in Sept. 2022.
While prices vary by location, the Cheesy Jalape?o Mexican Pizza can be enjoyed on its own for a suggested price of $4.49 or as part of a combo meal that includes a Cheesy Jalape?o Mexican Pizza, two Crunchy Tacos Supreme, and a large fountain drink for $9.99.
Other items reportedly heading to Taco Bell menus nationwide this September include Rolled Chicken Tacos, Nacho Fries and the Strawberry Twist Frost.
As for new test market items, well, Californians got lucky this time, as the fast food joint teamed up with Mountain Dew for a limited-edition Baja Blast gelato flavor shortly after it also tried out new chicken strips in the state.
