The Limited-Edition TJ’s Freezer Find That Shoppers Are Going Out of Their Way to Get

Trader Joe's just dropped its 2023 fall product lineup, but not everyone is leaning fully into the pumpkin and apple o'rama. People who are Team September is Summer (this year, the last day of summer is September 23) are lining up at the freezer case for TJ's newest sweet treat, Fudgy Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

The limited-edition flavor, which costs $3.79 a pint, was an instant hit. Natasha Fischer, who posts as @tradaerjoeslist on Instagram, snagged a pint during a recent haul and taste-tested it for her followers.

The ice cream is packaged in a pink carton with brown and white lettering. It's Barbiecore adjacent, and no one is complaining. The inside is even more beautiful, and Fischer showed it off. She held the pint up to the camera so viewers could see the vanilla base, the swirls of sea-salted fudgy swirls and the chocolate chips.

Finding the cookie dough chunks took a little more work, but Fischer was up to the challenge. She called the ice cream a "digger," meaning you've gotta dig for the cookie dough. She found some and shoveled a spoonful.

"I think all ice cream should have cookie dough in it," Fischer said. "Why is that not the case? Think of any ice cream. If you add cookie dough, it’s going to make it better.”

"Oh my goodness," Fischer said. "That is so good…that is supreme, premium ice cream right there. So delicious.”

Fischer is in love with the Fudgy Cookie Dough Ice Cream, and other fans are right there with her — the new Trader Joe's frozen treat tastes as good as it sounds (if not better).

"That fudge cookie dough is probably THE best ice cream I've ever had," said one fan.

"That ice cream is sooo good!!" said another, adding a fire emoji to drive home the point.

"My fiancé and I were driving home from a party tonight. I asked him if he wanted to stop at our Handel's for ice cream (which was not out of the way)," said one commenter. "He said, 'Can we go to Trader Joe’s and get the new ice cream?' Yep. We went out of the way to get our 2nd pint of the fudgy cookie dough ice cream! So good."

Another person has a love/hate relationship with the Fudgy Cookie Dough Ice Cream (and the powers that be at Trader Joe's).

"Why does TJ's tempt us with their new ice cream!? Ughhh, it's my new addiction," the person groaned.
