Spotted by a dedicated member of the Trader Joe’s subreddit, Trader Joe’s Butternut Squash and Caramelized Onion Tart is a pre-made tart made with a flaky, buttery dough that's filled with creamy cheese, caramelized onions, and cubes of butternut squash. Some sage and a little cayenne pepper add a little extra fall flair. Weighing in at 18 ounces and measuring about seven inches in diameter, this is the perfect tart for a small dinner party or a good choice for a brunch buffet. The tart, which costs $9.99, can be found in the refrigerated section, so all that's left to do is stick it in the oven to heat the filling through and crisp up the crust.

“I need to get that caramelized onion tart this weekend,” stated one elated customer. “I bought the rustic apple tart today and put it in the air fryer for 10 min at 350 degrees and it was *chefs kiss,” they continued, “my husband said it's the best thing he had from TJ's.” Another curious shopper chimed in to request a review on the onion tart, to which one satisfied customer responded, “There is more squash/onion under the crust of the tart, it's really delicious,” they added, “half with salad was the perfect dinner.”
In another Reddit thread, the same product showed up in a lidded plastic container (vs. wrapped in plastic wrap) and looked smaller and thicker. Based on the comments, it seems that the tart's packaging depends on where you live. The ingredients, weight and price of both versions seem to be the same, though, so no matter which one you get you should have roughly the same experience.
