Lindsey's Sunflower and Homecoming Festival offers up vendors, food, fun and games

The second annual Lindsey Sunflower and Homecoming Festival was held at Wendelle C. Miller Park on Saturday with 45 craft vendors in the Vendor Village and nine food trucks on the grounds.

The Suns Flower was a partner for the event. Event goers could ride a tractor-drawn farm wagon through the 50-acre field of sunflowers 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

There also was an open house at Sandusky County Parks District’s Creek Bend Farm along with School House tours.

There was a baby and toddler contest, along with a royalty contest. Other events included a live animal display, a chainsaw carving demonstration, a corn hole tournament, a K-9 demonstration from the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Department, a youth (1/4 mile) race, and an adult 5k race.

Also available was a dunk tank, children's play areas, house decorating contest, sunflower contest and a beer garden.

Entertainment was provided by groups including Grace Brethren Chapel Praise Band, Brad Hoffman, Gary Jones and the Rusty Rhythm Section and the HeyRyde Band.
