List: Events to celebrate Oktoberfest in Colorado
DENVER (KDVR) — Coloradans love beer all year long, but for a few weeks of the year, there are even more beer-centered festivities to enjoy than usual thanks to Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest is a German festival celebrating Bavarian culture and beer. The festival is being celebrated in Munich from Sept. 21 through Oct. 6 this year, according to the official website.

Here are some Oktoberfest events that Coloradans can go to without leaving the Centennial State:
Denver Oktoberfest
Where: Larimer Street and 21st Street in the Five Points neighborhood
Dates: Sept. 20-22, 27-29
Time: Fridays 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Denver Oktoberfest runs for two weekends and has been a staple in downtown Denver since 1969, according to the event website. The event includes a stein hoisting competition, keg bowling, live music, a costume contest, a talent show, vendors and food, private cabanas, a long dog derby and a beer hall with VIP exclusive experiences.

Breckenridge Oktoberfest
Where: Downtown Breckenridge
Dates: Sept. 13-15
Time: Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Breckenridge Brewery is presenting its 28th annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest with new features this year including a 21-and-older wristband that doubles as a convenient form of payment for all your easy beer-buying needs. There is also a 5k trail run that will lead runners on trails through Breckenridge ending just in time for Saturday’s first pour at 11 a.m.
La Veta Oktoberfest
Where: Main Street La Veta
Date: Oct. 5
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Proceeds for the La Veta Oktoberfest will benefit the Candy Cocco Memorial Student Fund and help people throughout the community, according to the event website. The celebration includes live music and dancing, food, vendors, activities for kids, a car show, contests and more.
Montrose Oktoberfest
Where: Montrose Rotary Amphitheater at Cerise Park
Date: Sept. 28
Time: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Black Canyon Homebrewers Association’s 19th annual Oktoberfest will benefit Montrose’s public transportation All Points Transit. There will be live music, dozens of local brews, contests, circus acts, food trucks, vendors and live music. Presale tickets are $40 online.

Longmont Humane Society Oktoberfest
Where: Collyer Park
Date: Sept. 21
Time: Noon to 7 p.m.
Fur babies and children are welcome at the Oktoberfest presented by the Longmont Humane Society. There will be food, live music, and a variety of beer for an early bird discount of $13. Proceeds for this event will benefit the Longmont Humane Society.
Left Hand Brewing Co. Oktoberfest
Where: The Garden in Longmont
Dates: Sept. 27, 28
Time: Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m.
The Left Hand Oktoberfest has some new offerings this year, including sack races, a stein holding competition and a craft artisan market. The family-friendly event includes live music, brat-eating and costume contests. Tickets start at $10 for Friday, $20 for Saturday or $25 for both days with the early bird discount. Kids 12 and under get in free.
Evergreen Area Oktoberfest
Where: Buchanan Park
Date: Sept. 21
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the Evergreen Oktoberfest will benefit Camp Comfort and Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice. The event is happening for the second time this year and includes a variety of activities for all ages, along with live music, dancing, food and beer.

Downtown Castle Rock Oktoberfest
Where: Wilcox Square
Date: Sept. 21
Time: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Everyone is invited to enjoy live music, a variety of food trucks, vendor booths, kid’s activities, stein hoisting competitions, beer and cocktails at the Downtown Castle Rock Oktoberfest. Admission is free for this event.
Denver Kickers Oktoberfest
Where: Denver Kickers Clubhouse in Golden
Dates: Sept. 13-15
Time: Friday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday noon to 9 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Admission for the Denver Kickers Oktoberfest is free and the event features German food and drink, Schuhplatter dancers, live music and family-friendly activities including a costume contest, stein hoisting contest, yodeling, vendors, crafts, face painting, giant Plinko, a dunk tank and a team relay beer drinking race.
Loveland Oktoberfest
Where: Loveland Fairgrounds Park
Dates: Sept 13, 14
Time: Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Oktoberfest in Loveland includes a stein hoisting competition, a best-dressed dog competition, a beer stein relay and live music. Attendees can sign up for competitions online.

Steamboat OktoberWest
Where: Gondola Square in Steamboat Springs
Date: Sept. 7
Time: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Some 30 brewers and over 1,000 beer lovers will gather in Steamboat Springs for the Steamboat OktoberWest event. Tickets for the beer garden start at $55.20, and kids are allowed in the garden.
Vail Oktoberfest
Where: Lionshead Village, Vail Village
Dates: Sept 6-8, 13-15
Time: Noon to 7 p.m.
There will be lots of live music and dancing at the Vail Oktoberfest, on top of plenty of German food and beer, and other activities like eating contests, stein lifting contests, costume contests, keg bowling and more. Plus, there will be a Bavarian Kinder Club with bounce houses and arts and crafts to keep kids entertained.
Estes Park Autumn Gold Festival
Where: Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club
Dates: Sept. 21-22
Time: Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Autumn Gold Festival is one of beers, brats and bands, according to the website. Its family-friendly, admission is free, and attendees can enjoy food, beer, live music, face painting, a car show and more.

Colorado Springs Oktoberfest
Where: Western Museum of Mining and Industry
Dates: Sept 27-29
Time: Friday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Oktoberfest in Colorado Springs has plenty to offer beyond beer and food, like beer school, a baking competition and a Daschund race with prizes to win. Ticket prices vary by event and details can be found on the website.
Berthoud Oktoberfest
Where: Berthoud Town Park
Date: Oct. 5
Time: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Berthoud Oktoberfest is an annual cultural fundraising event benefiting the Berthoud Area Chamber of Commerce for events and business support. The festival includes German music, beer, food, a costume contest, stein hoisting and a yodeling contest. Admission is free and includes activities for adults and children.
Pueblo Oktoberfest
Where: Union Depot
Date: Oct. 5
Time: 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Oktoberfest in Pueblo is a family-friendly event with live music from German bands, food, activities, and naturally, lots of beer. General admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the door, and kids 12 and under get in free.
Greeley Oktobrewfest
Where: Lincoln Park
Dates: Sept. 27- 28
Time: Friday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission for the Greeley Oktobrewfest is free and includes activities for all ages, entertainment like live music and fire spinners, as well as beer tasting and food.
