Live Your Truth and Sleep in a Bread Bed at This Pop-Up 'Bread & Breakfast'

After giving us a Lisa Frank-themed hotel room in fall 2019, stocked with ’90s treats and covered in rainbows, Hotels.com is back with another pop-up suite—and this time, it’s all about bread.

On January 14, the company announced that it was partnering with New York City’s Refinery Hotel to create a limited-time-only “Bread & Breakfast” room, which is exactly what it sounds like. The suite is decked out with all-things carbs—think a headboard shaped like a slice of bread, pretzel curtains, toast “soap” (shown below) complete with little pats of “butter,” croissant pillows, a bread loaf-decorated comforter, and baguette slippers to keep your feet cozy. Right when you walk in, you’ll be greeted with a bakery smell, and each guest will also receive a custom robe embroidered with the word “Carbivore,” which they can take home as a souvenir.

Should you (understandably) get hungry looking at all of the bread decor, know that there’s plenty of food stocked in the room. It has a mini bar with a bakery case full of free pastries, a cereal bar, fresh bagels (with butter, jam, and cream cheese at your disposal), and a doughnut wall, too. For more substantial meals, the reservation comes with a $100 room service credit that can be used toward—you guessed it—all sorts of carbohydrate-centric meals. The first section of the menu is called “Let’s Get This Bread” (available 6:30 to 11:00 a.m.) and offers “Breakfast in Bread,” “Couch Potatoes,” and “Oat Yeah!” oatmeal; “Knead to Order,” on the other hand, is available from 11:30 am to midnight and includes everything from mac and cheese to burgers.

For those interested, the room will be available for stays from Friday, January 17 through Friday, January 31, and rates are $225 per night. Reservations open on January 17 and can be made at hotels.com.
