Bikini-clad Lizzo urges 'big girls' to be body-positive: 'We should be able to wear whatever the f*** we want'
Lizzo is getting loose on her Brazilian vacation — and encouraging her fans to follow suit.
Shortly after declaring herself a “roll model” while posing in a rust-orange string bikini, the “Truth Hurts” singer treated her social media followers to a short video which shows her wearing that same two-piece as she gives her shakes her curvaceous body. Her message: “Don’t forget to wobble today.”
Taking her “If I'm shinin', everybody gonna shine” lyric from her hit “Juice” to heart, the Grammy winner went on to spread that body-positive spirit to her fans.
The star — who has been subject to fat shaming remarks from trainer Jillian Michaels — filmed herself urging her followers to hit the beach with confidence and style.
“Hey, big girls,” she said, sporting a bright blue bikini. “Swimsuit season is approaching. You know what that means: B****, we need f*****g options. We need options, b****. We need options.”
Filming the colorful assortment of swimsuits displayed on her bed, she added, “You want a two-piece, b****? You want to wear a one-piece, b****? You want to wear a tube top? You want to wear something with a cut-out? You want to wear some boy shorts, b****? You want to wear a string bikini? You want to wear color blocking? You want to be in leopard? You want wear white?
“We should be able to wear whatever the f*** we want. String, non-string, s*** glitter. You want to wear some glitter? B****, you want to be naked?
“Big girls, I’m not talking about the volume,” she continued, “I’m talking about the variety. So let’s mix this s*** up. You want to wear white at the beach? B****, wear white at the beach. It’s summertime [in Brazil], ho. Big girls, I want to see y’all.”
She added that it was fine to wear long sleeves too, but that women need to “spice it up.”
While the 31-year-old is often celebrated for embracing her fuller figure, she recently told Rolling Stone that she’s not “brave” for doing so.
“I’m so much more than that. Because I actually present that, I have a whole career,” she told the magazine. “It’s not a trend.”
