Why is Orlando in the name of the Melbourne airport?

The name actually used to be Orlando Melbourne International Airport.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority sued its Orlando counterpart in federal court in March 2019 claiming trademark infringement and false advertising. Both airport boards agreed to settle the lawsuit in March 2021 with the new name Melbourne Orlando International Airport.

"We’re not trying to be Orlando. Our service area and our customers don't stop at the city limits. This is not a city-specific element," Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan said at the time. “The term Orlando is a geographic identifier. And that geographic identifier is extremely important for people that are inbound from different areas."
