Lorde and Jack Antonoff spend Grammys weekend together, but aren't dating
Lorde and Jack Antonoff aren’t doing much to dispel those dating rumors in the wake of the producer’s split with Lena Dunham. While the friends and collaborators maintain they are simply that and nothing more, the musically gifted pair spent much of Grammys weekend together.
Antonoff, 33, produced Lorde’s album Melodramatic — which was up for Album of the Year — and the two sat next to each other in the audience on Sunday night. They were also side by side at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammys gala on Saturday. Earlier in the week, the pair took the stage together, sharing a piano bench, at Antonoff’s Ally Coalition charity event. Lorde performed a four-song set, and when someone in the audience tried to heckle her over her controversial decision to cancel her concert in Israel, Antonoff jumped to her defense.
“No, no,” he said as Lorde tried to calm him down. “We’ve raised a s*** ton of money tonight. F*** that negativity.”
The music producer and Lorde have been linked in tabloids recently, but Antonoff denied that they were seeing each other. He addressed the dating rumors, tweeting, “normally i would never address rumors but i resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip. those relationships are deeply important and sacred. with that said, im not seeing anyone. lol.”

Antonoff was spotted with model Carlotta Kohl, and Us Weekly claimed that they are dating.
The romance buzz with Lorde hasn’t stopped Antonoff from publicly praising his pal. While on Late Night With Seth Meyers last Wednesday, he said of the 21-year-old New Zealand singer, “We’ve introduced each other to a lot of things.”
“She didn’t know Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, [and] the classics, so that was one thing I was able to show her,” he exclaimed, before adding with a laugh, “She taught me class.”
As for Lorde, she recently talked to Billboard about their friendship. “We still FaceTime almost every day. When you work with someone, you sometimes think, ‘Maybe it will just be for this time, and we say we’re going to keep in touch but we won’t.’ But we really … I’m like, ‘Hey, dickhead, what are you getting me for Christmas?’”
The singer has previously categorized her relationship with Antonoff as a brother-sister type thing. “He’s an amazing person. He’s so truly strange. He’s like my sibling now,” she told Seth Meyers in summer 2017. “He’s like my work husband.”
Dunham, 31, and Antonoff recently split after five years of dating. Multiple reports claim their breakup was amicable.
