Los Angeles Wine Savant Channels Jay-Z with Debut Hip-Hop Song About Wine
In what’s believed to be the first-ever hip-hop song recorded entirely about wine, popular Los Angeles sommelier Devin Reed aka Dev The Somm, pays homage to the goat Jay-Z’s Girls, Girls, Girls—with a glass raised in the air of course—on his upcoming debut single Wine, Wine, Wine.

Written by Reed and produced by LA beat-maker Ahsohn the DJ, the 3 ? minute track lists 42 different wine types, regions, or brands, and finishes with Reed rattling off some of his favorites, including not only Jay-Z’s Ace of Spades Champagne or ultra-expensive Napa Valley red wine Opus One, but also a bevy of small, female-owned, and black-owned wineries as well.
If you don’t know of Dev The Somm, he’s been hiding in plain sight as the wine consultant behind NBC’s wine-centric comedy sitcom Grand Crew, and working with Lebron James’ UNINTERRUPTED. On his own YouTube show Wine & Culture LA Dev has hosted wine tasting interviews with Cedric the Entertainer, Ja Rule, Maverick Carter, and several other influential celebrities.
Reed resides in LA, where he's studied with the Court of Master Sommeliers, Society of Wine Educators, and UCLA, all while he used to manage celebrity wine hotspot Wally’s Beverly Hills—known for being one of Drake’s favorite places to get a glass of wine, and also the scene of Kendall Jenner & Bad Bunny’s first dates. In recent years he founded a wine concierge company 59Wines, and currently works with NBA Legend Chris Paul’s wine partnership at La Fête Wine Company, a black-owned wine from St. Tropez in the South of France.
