'How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days' Is Becoming a TV Show
I literally never thought that I'd ever see the day that my everyone's favorite cult classic rom-com, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, would ACTUALLY get turned into a television series, but here we are! Looks like Christmas came a whole four months early, and I am sooooo not complaining about it.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, which stars Kate Hudson and Matthew (Bae) McConaughey, released back in 2003—feel old yet? JK, JK. But that's why a television series remake of the film feels almost too good to be true. Thankfully, according to E!, the news is 100 percent real. The show, set to be written by Guy Branum (Awkward, The Mindy Project), will become available on Quibi. Haven't heard of Quibi yet? That's because it's an upcoming mobile-streaming platform (that you're likely gonna download ASAP once the series is out, let's be real).
Guy made sure to tweet about the news on Thursday to reassure us that he has every intention of doing the movie justice when it comes to the small-screen. "We were all certain you could not make a good romantic comedy anymore because print media is dead and RomCom ladies have to work at magazines, but against the tides of history, Quibi & Paramount have agreed to let me re-write "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"," he wrote.
Guy later replied to his original tweet with a seriously HOT GIF of McConaughey from the movie, adding, "I will be observing and consulting numerous photos of shirtless Matthew McConaughey to properly research this task." The GIF in question?
(You're welcome.)
For those you that never had the pleasure of watching the movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is about a Composure columnist named Andie Anderson and an ad exec Benjamin Barry, who both play a bunch of different love games with each other—Ben, to see if Andie will fall in love with him in a certain amount of time, Andie, to see if he'll get fed up and dump her. It's truly brilliant entertainment!
In the meantime, I'll be rewatching the movie while the rest of the series details trickle in. Ciao for now!
