Love ‘Killing Eve’? Here Are 2 More Shows to Binge from Series Creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge
If you love the delicate balance between drama and humor that Killing Eve nails time and time again, then you’ll be delighted to know there’s more where that came from. In fact, series creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 33, has several other shows you can binge at your leisure. Oh, did we mention she also stars in and produces them? Yep, impressive. Here, two more shows you can watch to quench your thirst for Waller-Bridge’s specific type of acerbic humor.
‘Fleabag’
Currently in its second season, Fleabag has been around since 2016. As the title suggests, the series centers around a less than pious woman named, well, Fleabag. She drinks, she smokes, she’s a sex addict and she has some deep-seated family issues. Her sense of humor, however, is marvelous. Waller-Bridge stars as the titular character and frequently breaks the fourth wall à la The Office. Fiona Shaw, who plays Carolyn in Killing Eve, also appears in the series. Waller-Bridge has said she’s unsure if she wants to bring the show back for a third season, so TBD on that. In the meantime, you can watch Fleabag’s exploits in seasons one and two via Amazon Prime.
‘Crashing’
Much like it sounds, Crashing follows six 20-somethings who are crashing at a shuttered hospital as property guardians because of the cheap rent and relaxing effect of the extremely strict rules. The six-part series stars Waller-Bridge as Lulu, a woman whose childhood friend, Anthony (Damien Molony) resides in the former hospital. She decides to move there, much to Anthony’s fiance, Kate’s (Louise Ford), dismay and the awkward and emotionally stunted chaos specific to 20-somethings ensues. You can stream Crashing on Netflix any time you need a reminder that your life is in order.
Happy bingeing!
