This Low Lift, High Reward Super Bowl Recipe Is Travis Kelce Approved
With Super Bowl LVIII right around the corner, it's hard not to talk about food and drinks. A good Game Day spread is like the glue that holds our hopes and dreams together as we watch our favorite team battle it out on the field. Curating a Super Bowl worthy menu, however, is no easy task. But thankfully, this year has blessed us with gems like the Super Bowl’s super fancy leaked guest menu and Donna Kelce’s family-favorite 7-layer dip to draw inspiration from.
If anyone is going to know a thing or two about a successful Game Day spread, it’s Donna Kelce — mother of two of the NFL’s most loveable brothers and one excellent cook. In collaboration with Barefoot Wine, the official sponsor of Super Bowl LVIII, Kelce put together a playbook of food and wine pairings for those planning to throw their very first Super Bowl party.

The menu includes the obvious classic: hot dogs, which Donna Kelce pairs with Pinot Grigio. Also included are Jason Kelce’s Philly cheesesteaks, paired with Cabernet Sauvignon. But what really caught our attention was Travis Kelce’s Kansas City chicken wings paired with a Sauvignon Blanc. The entire menu is a crash course in quality tailgating foods — minus a rack of your favorite beer — but chicken wings without a doubt take W in our book. It wouldn’t be Game Day without them, and we've got the skinny on how to make them.
You’ll need 2-pounds of chicken wings, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, hot sauce and unsalted butter. Start by preheating your oven to 400°, then toss the chicken wings in a large bowl with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake the wings on a rack for 45 to 50 minutes until crispy, making sure to flip them over halfway through the process.
In a separate bowl, mix together ? cup of hot sauce and ? cup of melted butter. Once removed from the oven and slightly cooled, toss the wings in the butter sauce until well coated. Serve hot and enjoy!
