Lucas Black Was Cast in His First Major Role Since His Shocking 'NCIS: NOLA' Exit
Lucas Black's first role after NCIS: New Orleans is a major movie.
The actor will once again play Sean Boswell in Fast and Furious 9.
Lucas Black said goodbye to NCIS: New Orleans, but he’s not stepping away from acting for good.
After five years on the NCIS spinoff, Lucas’s character, Christopher Lasalle, was killed off this past fall. Fans were shocked, disappointed, heartbroken, etc. at the turn of events. But we have something that will make it just a little better.
If you’re jonesing for a little Lucas in your life, you can buy tickets to see him in Fast and Furious 9, his first major role since leaving NCIS: NOLA. Lucas posted a video from the set of the film, showing off a “pretty sick” car that his character built.
This will be his third appearance in the Fast and Furious saga as Sean Boswell, who was introduced back in 2006 when he starred in The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. It’s not clear how big a role Sean will play, but his caption does say he reunites with Sung Kang, who plays his former mentor (and presumably dead?) Han.
F9 will surely be a favorite for Furious fans, though. Apparently, Cipher (Charlize Theron) teams up with Jakob (John Cena) to get revenge on his brother, Dom (Vin Diesel). The trailer looks every bit as action-packed as usual, and we can’t wait to see Lucas and the rest of the cast when it releases on May 22.
We haven’t heard about any other projects from Lucas, but when we do you’ll be the first to know. Considering he parted ways with NCIS to spend more time with family, he could be taking a much-needed break after F9. Time will tell!
