Machine Gun Kelly is being showered with support from his fans after he was put in the middle of a scary situation earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the "papercuts" singer was speaking at the Forbes Under 30 Summit panel in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, when one attendee in the crowd unexpectedly got up on stage, prompting the musician to immediately jump up out of his seat.
In a clip from the alarming situation shared on Instagram, Kelly, 33, quickly stood up to face the interloper, telling him, "My man, get the f--k away from me."
"What are you doing? What are you doing?" the rapper asked, while telling the man, "This is a bad look. Don’t make me do this," before security finally grabbed him.
The man—whose identity remains unclear—was then escorted away, while Kelly returned to the interview looking visibly shaken up.
"I'm sorry," he told the audience. "I try to live in the dichotomy more on this side than the other guy. I left that guy in the past. I'm really sorry."
"I apologize for my primal reaction," he added, while Forbes Senior Editor, Under 30, Kristin Stoller told him, "You handled that amazingly."
Kelly—whose real name is Colson Barker—was applauded by fans in the comments of the Instagram post, who found his reaction to be perfectly poised under the circumstances.
"That could have been so much worse," one user pointed out, adding, "Colson did amazing ??????."
"You can see how hard he’s worked on himself. Old Kells would’ve reacted a lot differently. I’m proud of our boy??," wrote another.
"That is so so so so so scary !!! You never know what their intentions are !" another commenter argued. "Anyone that knows Colson knows how much this would bother him."
Someone else added, "He really handled that beautifully. It’s hard to manage your emotions on the spot like this ??."
