Macklemore does his daughter's hair in an adorable topknot, fellow fathers give him props

Two years into his daddy duties, and it seems like Macklemore is learning a little something about hairstyling from his daughter Sloane. During a playdate with Ciara and her son, Future, at the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks game on Monday night, Macklemore was caught fixing his daughter’s hair in an adorable topknot. Luckily, Ciara got it on camera.

The R&B singer and wife of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson took to her Instagram to post this video and praise Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, for his hairdressing skills.

“This is the real deal right here. Daddy duties,” Ciara is heard saying in the video, as Macklemore loops Sloane’s hair into a little bun in one fell swoop. He celebrates his work with a dance and admits that he’s still working on other hairstyles, including a braid. But Macklemore isn’t the only dad doing his daughter’s hair.

Celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Colombini wrote, “Too cute! Well done @macklemore.” One commenter said, “Aww look at the little ones face in the pic.” And a follower wrote, “That’s right, dad. Men can do their little girl’s hair too,” which is made evident by a number of fathers who have gone viral for styling their kids’ hair. Most notably is former NFL player Matthew A. Cherry, who created an animated short film about the experience of a father first styling his daughter’s hair.

For now, it seems like Macklemore’s attempt at a braid might be more highly anticipated than his next single.
