The minute we walked into the space, it was so familiar. It actually felt weird that it didn’t feel weird.”
In fact, Reiser and Hunt have been friends for over 30 years. “I have remained very, very close friends with Paul,” said Hunt. “Reboot, or no reboot we have lunch once a month. We really enjoy and care for each other. Hunt directed several episodes of the reboot and both Hunt and Reiser were executive producers.

Born in 1957 in New York City, Reiser started his career as a stand-up comedian. His sharp wit and observational humor caught the attention of Hollywood, leading to appearances on popular talk shows like The Tonight Show and Late Night with David Letterman.
Reiser's acting career gained traction with notable roles in films such as Diner (1982) and Beverly Hills Cop (1984). Helen Hunt as Jamie Buchman
Helen Hunt, born in 1963, in Los Angeles, California, began her acting journey at an early age. Before Mad About You, Hunt appeared in television series like Swiss Family Robinson (1975-1976), The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1977), The Fitzpatricks (1977-1978) and It Takes Two (1982-1983).
However, she rose to fame and is best known for portraying Jamie Buchaman, which earned her four Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. Her chemistry with Paul Reiser was a cornerstone of the show's success, and her character's evolution from a newlywed to a mother resonated with viewers.
In addition to TV, Hunt appeared in many movies including the 1997 film As Good as It Gets, in which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
She also appeared in Twister (1996), Cast Away (2000), What Women Want (2000) and Soul Surfer (2011). Hunt has also moved into directing, including 2018’s The Miracle Season.
Mad About You Cast: Anne Ramsay as Lisa Stemple
Anne Ramsay, born in 1960, in Los Angeles, played the memorable role of Lisa Stemple, Jamie's quirky and lovable best friend. Leila Kenzle, born in 1960, in Patchogue, New York, played the role of Fran Devanow, Jamie's older sister. Kenzle's performance added a relatable family element to the sitcom, and her comedic timing contributed to the overall success of the series.
Prior to the show, Kenzle appeared in theater productions and guest roles on TV series like The Cosby Show, the Golden Girls and Thirtysomething. However, it was Mad About You that launched her to stardom. She received four Screen Actor Guild nominations for her role.

She opened her own practice in 2005. She now sees individuals and couples dealing with a variety of concerns including, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, eating disorders, parenting work as well as issues dealing specifically with the entertainment industry.
Mad About You Cast: John Pankow as Ira Buchman
John Pankow was born in 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri; he was the sixth of nine children. He got his big break in 1980 in the PBS movie, Life on the Mississippi. He then got bit roles in television shows including Law & Order, Spenser: For Hire, and Miami Vice.
Portraying Ira Buchman, Paul's cousin and best friend, was Pankow’s pinnacle of success.
Ira added a comedic edge to the series, serving as Paul's confidant and providing humorous insights into friendship and family dynamics. Pankow's performance showcased his versatility as an actor, contributing to the ensemble's chemistry.
After the series, he had guest roles in several television series including Ally McBeal, Law and Order and Blue Bloods.
