A ‘Mad About You’ Reboot With Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt Is in the Works!

If you’re a fan of ’90s TV shows, we have amazing news for you: A Mad About You reboot is reportedly in the works, with stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt in talks to reprise their beloved roles.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures Television Studios is actively working on a revival of the sitcom, which followed Paul and Jamie Buchman, a married couple living in New York. While the original series focused on their life during their ‘30s — which included balancing their careers, friends, and eventually a baby — the new series would see the duo dealing with a case of empty-nest syndrome as their 17-year-old daughter Mabel goes off to college.

Reiser, who most recently appeared as Stranger Things’ Dr. Sam Owens, spoke about where we might see his character when he told E! News, “Now, as my own kids are getting older, I think this is a very different point in life. And it starts to feel in a different way like the 2.0 version of being married. Like, oh, here’s another point in life that we don’t know what the heck is going to happen.”

We’re not sure what Hunt has to say about a possible return to TV quite yet, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that she’s just as eager to see where her character is all these years later.

Given the success of other old-school reboots, such as Fuller House and Will and Grace, as well as the highly anticipated Roseanne revival, we have no doubt that fans would be mad about a Mad About You reunion.
