Madame Web First Reactions Are Savage
Madame Web has been shown to the public for the first time, and it’s not a pretty sight.
The superhero film, which stars Dakota Johnson as a woman who can see the future, held its premier in Los Angeles on Monday 12th February.
In the process, it exposed early audiences to potentially the worst comic book movie of all time.
Film reviewer Chris Parker tweets “Madam Web is an embarrassing mess. Talented stars wasted on probably the worst comic book movie I have ever seen."
#MadameWeb is an embarrassing mess. Talented stars wasted on probably the worst comic book movie I have ever seen. Filled with atrocious dialogue, awkward editing, & all around laughable structure. I sat there baffled scene by scene someone approved this. The memes will redeem it pic.twitter.com/wwxBZmzf1f

Actor and producer Matt Ramos tweets: “morbius was better,” referring to the critical and commercial failure that was Jared Leto’s vampire superhero movie from 2022.
It wasn’t all bad, however. Twitter user @FenixDy writes “Madame Web exceeds expectations!"
#MadameWeb exceeds expectations! Some of the dialog is cheesy AF, some heavy-handed product placement, and probably couldve been tidied up a bit more. But the cast really work magic with what they had, their chemistry is a lot of fun, and the suits look great pic.twitter.com/UZoD5irjQx

Madame Web is the fourth film in Sony’s shared Spider-Man Universe (SSU). It uses Marvel characters but isn’t officially part of the MCU.
Madame Web releases February 14th. After, Sony follows up its SSU with Kraven the Hunter on August 30 and Venom 3 on November 8. That's if continually poor reviews hasn't scared Sony off.
It goes someway to explaining why Madame Web was mocked on Saturday Night Live.
