Teens are asking dates to prom with outrageous beauty promposals
Prom season is here, and while some teenagers are preparing to step out in original dresses or suits, others are crafting some really cool ways to ask their proposed date to this year’s special occasion. Take 18-year-old Julian Ramirez, for example. He really knew how to put a smile on his prom date’s face by figuring out a way to include her love for makeup.
Ramirez created a posterboard that read, “Alize make me blush by being the highlight to my prom?” He presented the young lady a Morphe x Bretman Rock Babe in Paradise highlighter palette ($29) and a bouquet of flowers. The adorable moment when he presented it to Alize was shared on Twitter, and thousands of people have been in love with his gesture. The original tweet has received over 14,000 likes and more than 1,000 shares. One person commented, “this is the cutest thing.”

“At first I was a little overwhelmed. This by far is the most attention I’ve ever received,” Ramirez told Yahoo Lifestyle. “But afterward I felt good. Everyone was really nice and congratulated me, so a big thank-you to them.” Amongst Ramirez’s supporters was popular beauty vlogger and co-creator of the highlighter palette Bretman Rock himself. He shared the prom proposal on his Twitter feed.
Ramirez explained that his proposed date, Alize, is really into makeup and they both love Rock. “I knew she would instantly like it because it includes two things that she loves,” he says. “I saw his YouTube video on the product and saw people’s reactions to it and instantly knew it would be worth my money.”
After a few short months of planning it all out along with Alize’s best friend, Samantha, Ramirez admits that it was one of the most nerve-racking things he’s ever done. However, everything went as planned, and Alize was very happy. “Of course, she said yes,” Ramirez says. “We’re definitely going to have to show out for prom. She has this really bright vibe to her, so if she looks good and radiant, so will I.”
Alize hasn’t used her highlighter palette yet, as she wants to save it for a special occasion, but Ramirez tells us that she absolutely loves it. From the looks of it, his makeup-inspired prom proposal was a huge success.
Ramirez’s beauty-full promposal was really amazing, and with prom season in full force, there will probably be more. Keep scrolling to check out other fun promproposals that follow suit, and prepare for a cuteness overload.
