Mandy Moore Has Reached Peak Happiness Thanks to Her Role on ‘This Is Us’
Prior to landing her dream role on This Is Us, Mandy Moore’s personal and professional life was far from satisfying. But despite the chaos, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
In her most recent interview, Moore dished on what it’s like to star in the hit NBC show and the impact its success has had on her well-being. “I’m more grateful than I ever have been in my life. It’s a very happy time,” she told People.
However, this wasn’t always the case. Moore went on to reveal that she was in a bit of a rut prior to booking This Is Us. She continued, “I had a few years of just unhappiness. From a career perspective, I felt like I was barely treading water… That coincided with my personal life not being in a great place.”
But things turned around once Moore took a step back to focus on herself. She added, “I stopped, I regrouped, I got myself better situated, and six months later [This Is Us] came around. And I was ready for it.”
As for her personal life, in 2016 Moore had recently split from her ex-husband, singer Ryan Adams, and she was ready to find her new life partner, even if that meant totally putting herself out there on social media. She said of her meeting now-fiancé Taylor Goldsmith, a member of the band Dawes, “I took a picture of their album and posted it on Instagram. Somehow, Taylor saw it and sent a note to me. We started emailing back and forth, then we went on a date and the rest is history. Thanks, Instagram, for helping me meet my fiancé.”
Gotta love technology, amirite?
