Mandy Moore's Couch Is the "It" Color of 2024
According to the 131 design experts Apartment Therapy editors spoke to for our 2024 State of Home Design report, “moodiness” is going to be all the rage for interior design in 2024. “After years and years of light and bright interiors, a lot of designers and clients seem to be finding themselves attracted to darker hues,” Los Angeles-based designer Orlando Soria previously told Apartment Therapy. “Saturated wall colors, richly colored upholstery, and darker stone and wood finishes will help provide some of this visual drama.” And Mandy Moore has already plunged feet-first into her moodiness era with a luxe velvet ochre couch, which should definitely go on your inspo board.
The bespoke built-in sofa also plays into the upcoming trend of playing with texture to create definition in a minimalist space. The sleek white marble paired with the warm plushness of the upholstery is a fun juxtaposition that adds a bit of an eclectic feel to Moore’s space without excess clutter.
Plus, the gold velvet works so well as part of what designers’ forecast will be the color palette for 2024: rich nature-inspired tones that include forest green, burgundy, chocolate brown, and camel.
