Your March Horoscope Is Here
It might be difficult to look forward to the momentous planetary events headed our way this month when we’re still facing down an ongoing Mercury retrograde. The backspin will continue until March 9, and it’ll take an additional two weeks for Mercury’s fog to lift completely. But there’s plenty more in store than a little Mercurial chaos this month.
For one thing, the full moon in Virgo, which coincides with the end of Mercury retrograde on the 9th, will whip us into shape and remind us that hard work is just as important as natural talent. You may feel a boost in persistence and perfectionism, but you could just as easily feel anxious around your shortcomings — the trick will be to silence your inner critic and stay focused on the task at hand.

For another, our planetary taskmaster, Saturn, will move into Aquarius on the 21st. Aside from a brief visit to Capricorn from July 1 to December 17, the ringed planet will remain in the sign of the Water Bearer for the next two and a half years. From this position, Saturn will urge us to take responsibility for the greater good and seek inventive changes that will serve us in the long run. Saturn can be a demanding, no-nonsense celestial force, but, if we follow the direction of its critical gaze, we’ll likely find a problem that does, indeed, need solving.
ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
The sun will move into your sign on the 19th and kick off your month-long birthday season, Aries — ready to make a birthday wish? If you’re hoping for wealth and prosperity, or at least a little more security with the cash you already have, you’re in luck. Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and harmony, will move into your money sector on March 4th and lend a greater sense of ease to your financial situation. However, when the sun casts its spotlight directly overhead later in the month, you may jump at the first chance to spend a ton on something shiny. You deserve a birthday treat, but make it an investment piece as opposed to an impulse purchase.
Take a break from celebrating and gift-hunting on the 24th, when the new moon moves into your sign and imbues you with an uncharacteristic quietude. Your feelings around age, milestones, and maturity will rise to the surface — don’t try to tamp them down, Aries. Instead, ask yourself where you hope to be in life by the time Aries season 2021 rolls around.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Your birthday season isn’t until next month, Taurus, but you’ll be in the mood to treat yourself well in advance — specifically when Venus, your lovey-dovey ruling planet, glides into your sign on March 4th. You’ll be feeling flirty, presentable, and — can you believe it — relatively carefree. Last month’s celestial activity wasn’t exactly ideal for love or your self-esteem, for that matter, so feel free to slap on those rose-tinted glasses while you can (or until Venus moves into Gemini on April 3rd).
Be warned, however, that the 4th also marks the day that Mercury retrograde moves into Aquarius and sets its sights on your work life (cue the influx of unread emails and awkward office gossip). As much as you may want to hide out and work from home until Mercury goes direct on the 9th, you’ll be better off sticking around, holding your head high, and getting ahead of any rumors that start making the rounds. Reaffirming your commitment to your career early in the month will pay off when Saturn, the demanding authority figure of the planets, moves into your zone of work and reputation. The next two and a half years will see you evaluating your ambitions and seeing how they stack up against the goals you’ve actually attained so far. It won’t always be a pretty process, Taurus, but it’ll be worth it for your long-term success.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Since Pisces season started last month, you’ve been directing your efforts toward cementing your reputation at the office, which is no small feat in the midst of a Piscean Mercury retrograde. The full moon on the 9th will ask you to remove your nose from the grindstone for one night at least and look to your home life instead. Are you in need of rest, Gemini? What about your partner, friends, or housemates — what might they need from you? Take some time around the full moon to ensure that your domestic sphere is in working order. Don’t let a leaky faucet or roommate dispute sneak up on you.

You’ll be at your networking best in the latter half of the month, when the sun moves into Aries and lights up your social life. Your wit will crackle, group chats will be vibrant, and opportunities to connect with new people — or to get to know someone better — will land on your calendar. Putting yourself out there could mean forging a friendship or making a valuable work contact, so try to ignore any homebody yearnings this month. Mercury retrograde’s effects will be on the decline by then, so you’ll feel even more amenable to new people and new ideas.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
With Mercury retrograde underway and combative Mars still camped out in your relationship sector, it’ll be easy to feel like you’re starting this month off on the wrong foot, Cancer. Though your nerves may be raw and your temper may be short, you nevertheless stand a chance at finding your center this month. The 16th could find you in a curious, surprisingly optimistic mood and that open-mindedness will stay with you through the month, giving you the confidence to try out new hobbies, indulge in pet pursuits, and speak your mind in mixed company.
As you reacquaint yourself with your big-picture passions, you’ll be called to reconsider your big-picture ambitions, too. The new moon on the 24th will arise in your career sector and ask you how you’re feeling about your current trajectory at work. This isn’t your cue to panic or make any rash decisions — rather, it’s an opportunity to take a serious look at where you’re headed professionally and, if needed, make plans to correct your course in the coming weeks.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Do you feel in charge when it comes to your valuables, Leo? Who’s holding your purse strings — and who’s tugging at your heart strings, for that matter? The full moon on the 9th will send these questions to the front of your mind and you may realize it’s time to reclaim control when it comes to giving and receiving time, money, and care. It can be tempting to shower your loved ones with unbounded affection, but you can only do so when you’re sure that you’re showing yourself the same amount of love.
Saturn will enter Aquarius and your relationship sector on the 21st, calling your choices in love further into question. The ringed planet prioritizes commitment and permanence, meaning casual flirtations, as fun as they may be, might not scratch your romantic itch as well as, say, a longer-term partnership might. You won’t feel a sudden change of heart — rather, this will be a gradual shift that takes place over the next two and a half years. All we can say is it was kind of Saturn to wait until well after Valentine’s Day to make its move.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
The full moon on the 9th will occur in your sign and give you a much-deserved chance to (excuse the pun) bask in your very own glow, Virgo. You’ll feel quite pleased with yourself and particularly aware of all the good, hard work you’ve been doing. As a result, you’ll be interested to see who else comes forward to laud your efforts — if you don’t get the recognition you believe you deserve, there could be hell to pay. Try to maintain your practical perspective and don’t let how others treat you affect your mood.
It’s a happy coincidence that your ruling planet, Mercury, will end its retrograde on the very same day, lifting its bemusing fog and releasing its grasp on your relationships. If even your happiest partnerships felt strained last month, Virgo, you can look forward to a greater sense of ease now — that isn’t to say that all present and future problems will be solved, but you’ll feel less inclined to dwell on every little slight. It will be easier to keep the past in the past once the messenger planet is direct and your relationships will be all the better for it, Virgo.
LIBRA (September 22 - October 23)
In the short term, you’ll get a chance to fine-tune your approach to wellness when Mercury moves into your health and work house on the 16th. Life will get busier, and in turn you’ll want to make sure you’re in tip-top shape to handle the demands of your to-do list. Drink plenty of water, hack your sleep schedule, and get a dental cleaning on the calendar. You might not find any of this thrilling in the moment, but your future self will thank you.
In the longer term, Saturn’s move into fellow air sign Aquarius on the 21st will set off a gradual but dramatic change in where you find your confidence, Libra. The opinions of others undoubtedly affect how you view and present yourself, but Saturn will tell you that that isn’t sufficient. Instead, the ringed planet will urge you to look within for that same kind of validation. Yes, self-expression, creative projects, and even attention for your skills and efforts will feel hard-won during this period, but you’ll emerge as a more self-aware version of yourself, one who’s used this time to develop as an independent person and to discover more fulfilling modes of self-care.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Starting on March 21, Saturn will begin a two-and-a-half-year tour through your concept of “home,” which covers everything from where you find the greatest sense of safety to how you feel about renting versus buying. This transit will ask you to confront the most concrete steps to creating a home for yourself, as well as the more spiritual question of what you need (in terms of belongings, people, or feelings) in order to know that you are home. In turn, you may start to feel alienated or distanced from things that don’t fit your newly honed definition of comfort. You can certainly start to sever ties, but don’t ghost anyone who’s relying on you — state your case then take your leave.
The new moon on the 24th will remind you that, even as you embark on this long-term house-keeping project, it’s important to make sure your physical body is just as well cared for. Look for “lacks” in your wellness routine — not enough water, sleep, movement, relaxation, perhaps — and think about how you can start to address them in the coming weeks, ideally before April’s full moon.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
This month will offer up a hearty dose of both work and play, but you’ll have to tackle the former before you can enjoy the latter, Sag. On March 9, the full moon in Virgo will highlight your professional skills and strengths — and just about everyone around the office will take notice. This is how promotions and raises happen, so don’t shy away if someone taps you for a special project. But, in that same vein, don’t let this added attention shake your confidence and affect your performance. Treat your work this month like you always have and you’re sure to shine.
Next up, play: The sun will move into fellow fire sign Aries on the 19th and illuminate your house of play and creativity in the process. For the next 30 days, you can spend more time chasing thrills, playing the field, and generally joking around (as many Archers are wont to do). Others will find your carefree attitude infectious, but this will not be a consequence-free period. Keep an eye on any responsibilities you committed to before Aries season and make sure you’re holding up your end (even if it means putting some weekend plans on hold temporarily).
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
When Saturn moved into your sign roughly two and a half years ago, you embarked on a painstaking overhaul of your identity, values, and goals for the future. It was by no means a walk in the park, but you’re wiser and more in tune with yourself as a result. That said, you’ll bid your ruling planet adieu on the 21st, when it leaves your sign and moves into Aquarius. Instead of combing over your sense of self, you’ll now have a chance to turn that same critical gaze toward your finances. Yes, this period will likely consist of plenty of budget-amending and penny-pinching, but it should also involve some serious reflection on the price you place on your work and on your time. Are you setting it high enough? Are you making wise investments with your resources, monetarily and figuratively?
Look for clues as to where your energy is really going on the 24th, when the new moon will bring a truth about your family and home life out of the shadows. What developments and changes might be brewing within your inner circle?

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Brace yourself, Water Bearer — Saturn, the planet of responsibility and discipline will move into your sign on the 21st and ask you to begin a process that’ll take the next two and a half years, in which you’ll carefully and critically consider your identity. How do you present yourself to others? How do you define success for yourself? How are you challenging yourself to become smarter and stronger? And, perhaps more importantly, are you willing to change your current modes of living and working in the name of self-improvement? You don’t have to have all the answers right now — again, you’ll have plenty of time to work through the challenges of this transit. But, it will become harder and harder to sweep these queries aside the longer Saturn’s stay goes on.
In the meantime, enjoy a boost in mental clarity and efficiency when Aries season begins on the 19th. From then until April 19th (when Taurus season begins) you’ll execute your regular duties with ease and find it particularly satisfying to keep your everyday life pristinely organized. As Saturn’s stay in your sign stretches before you, these briefer, favorable transits will be your port in the storm.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Come March 19th, the sun will move into your neighboring sign of Aries and another Pisces season will come to an end — what did you learn to appreciate about yourself in the last month, dear Fish? Keep those birthday season realizations with you for the rest of the year. You never know when you may need to call on yourself to boost your confidence.
While the sun will exit your sign this month, Mercury will be zigzagging in and out of your sphere as the month unfolds. On the 4th, while it’s still retrograde, it will backslide into Aquarius and challenge your deepest values and philosophies (hope you have your dream journal ready). Then on the 16th, a week after it directs course, Mercury will return to your sign and, hopefully, lend a hand in helping you move forward after the chaos wrought during its retrograde period. You may find that you’re itching to share your opinions with others. You may feel like your mind is brimming with thoughts (again, keep a journal on hand). If nothing else, Mercury’s stay in your sign will remind you of what your own voice sounds like — and exactly how you should wield it.
