Tidying queen Marie Kondo has had a year. Following the 2014 release of her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, in which the world was introduced to Kondo’s KonMari method that advises people to toss out those items that don’t “spark joy,” Kondo only continued to gain popularity. But it wasn’t until the release of her Netflix series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo in 2018 that the KonMarie method really took off; and by 2019, Kondo was everywhere. In January, we employed the KonMari method throughout our entire homes, including (and especially) in the kids’ rooms; in February, Goodwill reported a spike in donations thanks to Kondo; and in March, she announced a new kids’ book that should hit shelves this fall. And now, Kondo has plans to release yet another book, but this time aimed at organizing one’s professional life.

Kondo teamed up with organizational psychologist Scott Sonenshein for Joy at Work: Organizing Your Professional Life, a book aimed at bringing joy to the other space you inhabit 40 hours each week: your workplace. Slated to hit shelves April 7, 2020, Joy at Work will “offer stories, studies, and strategies to help you eliminate clutter and make space for work that really matters,” the book description states. “Using the world-renowned KonMari Method and cutting-edge research, Joy at Work will help you overcome the challenges of workplace mess and enjoy the productivity, success, and happiness that comes with a tidy desk and mind.”

Kondo gave a sneak peek at the book cover earlier this month, captioning her Instagram post: “I’m thrilled to reveal the cover of ‘Joy at Work,’ written in collaboration with business professor @scott.sonenshein. This book offers stories, studies and strategies to help you eliminate clutter and make space for work that really matters. Coming Spring 2020, but I had to give you a sneak peek!”

Leading up to the release of Joy at Work, however, Kondo fans can pick up her children’s picture book, Kiki & Jax: The Life-Changing Magic of Friendship, on Nov. 5. Illustrated and co-written by Salina Yoon, the book — told through a squirrel and owl — will teach children vital lessons about tidying their spaces and making room for the relationships and things that matter most.
