Mario Testino Is Shooting His Burberry Campaign on Snapchat

There was a time when photo shoots, especially major fashion campaigns, were kept under lock and key. The idea of revealing the star or concept of a shoot before its official unveiling was considered to be on par with treason (and not just because there was no time to properly photo shop the subject!). But the current state of social media has changed all that, and behind-the-scenes video, while lovely, is rather an archaic way of sharing content. As a widely recognized digitally-advanced brand, Burberry understands this. For this reason, Mario Testino will shoot their Spring/Summer 2016 campaign on the Burberry Snapchat account.
Tune in tomorrow, Thursday, October 22 at noon EST, to get a bird’s eye view of what it feels like to be on set with the famed Peruvian lensman. He’ll be taking pics as well as video, which means that you might catch an off-the-cuff glance of Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, or Jourdann Dunn all of whom have famously posed for him and Burberry before.
Of course this is not the first time that brand has collaborated with Snapchat. Just last month, the most recent Spring/Summer 2016 collection (dubbed “Functionregalia”) was revealed the day before the show while models were still in fittings, and this past April, Burberry shared the inner workings of its “London in Los Angeles” extravaganza utilizing the social platform.
