Marques’ Almeida Uses Surplus Fabric In Everlane’s First Collaboration
Denim coordinates and satin tie-dye shirts are part of Everlane’s new collection with Portuguese, London-based design duo Marques’ Almeida.
The two sustainably focused brands came together to revisit some of Everlane’s popular staples. It is the San Francisco-based brand first designer collaboration.

The collection was built around surplus fabric. Everlane invited Marques’ Almeida founders Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida to use some of its leftover fabrics to create statement pieces based on a few of its best-selling styles.
“When thinking about how to meaningfully use our leftover fabrics while celebrating our hero pieces in an unexpected way, we thought that a collaboration with designers who can bring a new perspective to our classic designs would be a really inspiring solution,” said Mathilde Mader, Everlane’s chief creative officer. “I love the raw effortlessness of the [Marques’ Almeida] aesthetic, their technical sensibilities and their commitment to sustainable fibers and natural materials, which mirror ours.”
On Wednesday, Everlane celebrated the partnership with a Marques and Almeida by hosting a dinner at the TIWA Gallery in New York City infused with a Portuguese flair. Guests include actress Katie Holmes, model Ella Emhoff and model Bambi Northwood-Blyth.
Described as “high-end, low-environmental impact,” the collection breaks from Everlane’s laser-sharp focus on basics.
The collection spans organic cotton oversized barrel pants, a canvas patchwork jacket, relaxed oxford shirts and shirt dress, satin tie-dye slip dresses, alpaca knits and a cashmere sweater. Denim pieces include the Way-High jean made with organic cotton, a patchwork miniskirt and patchwork jean jacket with multiple pocket styles.
Marques’ Almeida is well-acquainted with the benefits and challenges of using deadstock and surplus textiles. In 2021, the designers partnered with 7 For All Mankind on a capsule collection made from deadstock denim.
“We have been creating garments from liability fabrics for years, and so when Everlane approached us with the idea of using some of theirs to create a collaboration collection, we immediately said yes,” Marques and Almeida said in a statement. “It was a challenge to work with specific yardage of the fabrics available and create a collection that was both inspired by Everlane’s hero pieces, but also felt true to our design DNA. However, it was one that we relished, and we are so thrilled with the final collection.”
The Everlane x Marques’ Almeida collection will be available exclusively on Everlane’s website on March 24 and retails for $88-$298.
