A Marriage Proposal Happened on ‘Jeopardy’: Watch It Here
What is… tissues? Pass the tissues. A surprise proposal happened on Thursday’s episode of Jeopardy between two fans of the popular game show.
Long-running host Alex Trebek, looking down at his note cards, shared with the audience that he had come across one contestant’s information, only to find that the fields and prompts were empty.
“Now ladies and gentlemen: Normally, I base my conversation with little bits of information they have supplied, but with regard to Michael Pascuzzi from Orlando, Florida, I have absolutely nothing on the card,” he said, before turning it over to the contestant.

Pascuzzi, a store manager, then turned to the audience to propose to his girlfriend Maria Shafer. “I just wanted to say one quick thing and ask Maria Shafer right there,” he said. “If she would make me a winner today and marry me.”
A tearful Shafer replied, “Yes, of course.”
However, that wasn’t the response Trebek was looking for.
“That would be, ‘What is yes?’” she said.
