Martha Stewart Explains the Origin of Her Friendship With Snoop Dogg
Martha Stewart's friendship with Snoop Dogg may have been an unexpected development back when it first became news, but it continues to make headlines year after year.
Now, the media mogul is opening up about how all of the pieces fell into place.
In a new video interview surrounding her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover, the homemaking queen is spilling all the details about her viral friendship with the rapper, who happened to text her during her sit-down with the magazine.

"Snoop!" she said as she pulled out her phone. "Let's see. 'Love you! Coming right up,'" she read off, laughing before going on to detail the happenstance surrounding the beginning of their friendship.
"Well, Snoop came on my show, and what was really charming about Snoop, first of all, was his giggle. He giggles in a very, very nice way," she began. "And his quest for learning! He is a real student, and that’s what really appealed to me."
After that, the two were seated next to each other for the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. During rehearsals, she says "he smoked all. Day. Long."
She continued, "All he did was smoke, and everybody was in such a good mood and we were all roasting each other. And luckily, Snoop’s secondhand smoke really kind of eased the pain for me a lot, and it was hysterical because I just felt, ‘Okay! I’ll go with the flow here.’ After like six billion views around the world, it turned out to be one of the best things—and it cemented my relationship with Snoop."
They went on to co-host a cooking show together, and in a Super Bowl commercial she proved the strength of their connection with a massive tattoo of his face, “My Dogg” written in calligraphy underneath. That's what we call dedication (even if it did turn out to be fake)!
