Martha Stewart Explains Why Age Is Not Important—And Instead What Is
Martha Stewart is the embodiment of the popular adage “age is just a number.”
At 81, the entrepreneur and lifestyle expert didn’t let age stop her from making a splash on the cover of SI Swimsuit’s latest cover—a cover she noted was “historic.”
Rocking 10 swimsuits for her shoot in the picturesque Dominican Republic, the businesswoman—and thirst trap queen—explained, “I’m going to be the oldest person, I think, ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated.”
However, she clarified that age simply isn’t something she pays much attention to.

“I don’t think about age, ever. I have friends who are 90, and I have friends who are 20, and that is a very good way to look at life because age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success,” Stewart, who counts Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, and Kris Jenner as part of her friends-circle.
Instead, she shifts her focus to “what people do, how people think, how people act,” adding, “That’s what's important, and not your age.”
“Legacy is what you’re doing right now, tomorrow, next week, the week after that. Keep it going as long as you can because it might be better than anything you’ve done before,” she continued.
And there’s no denying that Stewart knows a thing or two about legacy. While adding the SI Swimsuit cover to her resume, she listed off many of her other accolades and accomplishments like author of 99 books, creator of Martha Stewart Living magazine, mother and grandmother, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and an award-winning television performer.
We should all live as boldly as Stewart!
