Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart is trying out some new eats, but fans aren't quite convinced the unique twist on classic foods is something they're willing to get behind.
The home living mogul shared snapshots from her latest ultra-fancy dinner, presenting photos on social media of the "20th Century dining experience."
In the new captures uploaded via Instagram on Wednesday, March 20, the 82-year-old provided a glimpse inside the meal with her two million followers, many of whom promptly took to the comment section to question what exactly they were looking at on her plate.
The images included what looked to be a lobster/Cornish hen mashup meal, a salad, desserts, and a slice of paté (pronounced pah-tay), which is a French term that loosely translates to paste, and is a savory filling of meat and fat that is traditionally baked in pastry and can be served hot or cold, according to Food Network.
Stewart's social media caption explained more, as she wrote, "We had the pleasure of ding [sic] last evening @maisonbarne which is located in the same location as @cafebouludny on Park Ave."
She continued, providing details as to what her meal consisted of as she gushed over the spread: "@georgetteny is the proprietress and in her perfect French way she has created an early 20th century dining experience The restaurant offers amazing pate, roast chicken and lobster, fresh complex salads, delicious desserts, lovely entrees and spectacular vegetables The wine list is sophisticated and excellent and the service delightful I cannot wait to return !!"
In the comment section, fans were utterly perplexed at the interesting assortment of food items, writing things with genuine inquiries like, "Martha what in fresh hell" and "Martha what in the five minute crafts is this."
A third joked, "Not the chobster ??," seeming to cleverly combine the words chicken and lobster, while a fourth comically quipped, "I love the outfit the lobster is wearing."
"Chicken of the sea woah I get it now," yet another added, as someone else was convinced, "If this is fine dining, I’m fine not dining."
An additional Instagram user insisted the meal is "the most terrifying thing you've ever posted."
"I checked the calendar because I legit thought it was an April Fools joke ??????," another claimed, as someone else admitted to being "shook."
Meanwhile, a separate comment summed up our thoughts pretty nicely with "That’s wild ?? I bet it was delicious." You know what they say, don't knock it 'til you try it!
