Martina McBride's Christmas Decorations at Her Nashville Home Are a Christmas Miracle
Martina McBride’s house is as holly jolly as is it gets!
The country star decked out her home for the holidays, and is now showing off the Nashville-based abode that she shares with her husband John and their three daughters, Delaney, Emma, and Ava. And while her tree is certainly the centerpiece of the 1920s property, there’s another area that Martina is always sure to cover in Christmas cheer.
“I usually decorate all the mantels,” she said. “So that means kitchen, living room, dining room, and sitting room. I also decorate the entryway, and then I put little subtle decorations in the powder rooms.”
Though the spaces filled with rustic farmhouse furniture and glimmering tchotchkes from Birch Lane are stunning, for the Grammy-winning artist what really matters this time of year is hanging out with her loved ones and whipping up their favorite (surprising) seasonal feast.
“My family isn’t really big into turkey or ham, so I make a big pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy for the holidays,” says the singer, who just released her newest cookbook, Martina’s Kitchen Mix. “It’s what my mom made when I was growing up and because we’ve always had it just for the holidays and special occasions, we all look forward to it and feel like it’s the ultimate comfort food.”
Martina, John, and their children do take part in the usual December festivities, like cutting down a tree and trimming it with sentimental ornaments and souvenirs. But their most beloved tradition is a little different than one might expect.
“We start a 1,000 piece puzzle that stays on our kitchen island throughout the holidays,” she says. “We work on it a little at a time and guests even work on it when they come over. We make sure the whole family is together when the last piece goes in!”
