'Masked Singer' Fans Are Legitimately Devastated Over the Show's Season 2 Hiatus
Update, October 30, 10:39 a.m. ET: The Washington Nationals have forced a game seven in the World Series, meaning that, once again, Fox will not be airing a new episode of The Masked Singer on Wednesday night. While it's definitely a bummer, your favorite celebrity competition series will definitely be back for a new episode next Wednesday.

We're only four episodes into season 2 of The Masked Singer and already viewers are very attached to Thingamajig, Flamingo and the rest of the secret celebrities. So when judge Jenny McCarthy announced on Twitter that the show was going on hiatus, fans promptly freaked out online.
"Boo. We want #themaskedsinger and we want it NOW," one fan tweeted. "Bummer! I always look forward to watching it!," another said. Several more replied to Jenny's tweet with crying-face emojis and various dramatic memes, like this one:

Really though, why is The Masked Singer not on tonight with a new season 2 episode?
While it's definitely upsetting for die-hard fans, viewers have absolutely nothing to worry about — everything is just fine with the judges and remaining cast members. The reason for the hiatus is simple: The show's network, Fox, is home to MLB's World Series match-up between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals. The seven-game series began last night and will end as early as this Saturday or as late as next Wednesday, depending on the outcome. In other words, if the World Series goes to game seven, The Masked Singer will be off next week, as well.
But there's no need to despair, non-baseball fans/MS enthusiasts: Masked Singer showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra tells GoodHousekeeping.com that when the episodes do come back, we'll be treated to a fun "showmance."
"There is a love affair that develops between Nicole and Thingamajig … there are tears that unfold, this person’s voice absolutely mesmerizes Nicole," she spills. "Both her and the Thingamajig have a sweet, bizarre Beauty and the Beast moment."
In the meantime, all we can do is hope that the Astros or Nationals win in six games or less.
