On Wednesday morning, NBC announced it had fired Today show host Matt Lauer after an allegation of "inappropriate sexual behavior." "While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he's been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident," NBC chairman Andy Lack said in a statement.

Lauer, who was on the Today show since 1997, not only hosted the morning show but also took part in various NBC special broadcasts. And it turns out that one of them is scheduled for Wednesday night: Christmas in Rockefeller Center, the annual tree lighting that takes place just outside the Today show's studio. Lauer has frequently been a part of those holiday specials.

Lauer had been scheduled to be one of the show's hosts. As of Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, the Christmas in Rockefeller Center website still listed Lauer as one of the hosts of the special.

But Lauer will not be taking part in the evening broadcast. A source close to the network told CountryLiving.com that the hosts of the special will be Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker, and there will be no replacement for Lauer. The broadcast shows the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center, and will also include performances from Brett Elredge, Jennifer Nettles, Leslie Odom Jr., Pentatonix, Gwen Stefani, Train, and Harry Connick Jr.

Lauer has not publicly responded to the allegations against him.
