Generations of kids have, well, dreamed of getting a DreamHouse for their Barbies. (Raise your hand if your heart skipped a beat when you saw this photo.) But it can be a big ask — and a popular gift that disappears from shelves at holiday time.
Now that you're on the grownup side of the equation, you may be looking to delight and surprise a kid in your life with the latest iteration, a three-story 43-inch-tall wonder. Though Amazon has a one- to two-month wait for the product, Walmart has the newest Barbie DreamHouse not only in stock but also on sale, down from $199 to just $150. We suggest you act fast. This may be your only chance to grab a DreamHouse in time to get it under the tree.

This year’s Barbie DreamHouse is certainly a step up from the sets you might have known as a kid. It’s got an elevator, pool slide and a swing chair, along with lots of built-in sound effects that can make it feel like a real busy household! Kids love it, and so do parents, with one calling it “amazing” due to its many modern features. While her daughter is certainly having a blast, she also personally “loves the swimming pool feature because it reminds my of my Barbie pool as a kid.”
Shoppers do warn that this toy is pretty big: “I didn't imagine that this house would be this huge. Definitely a grand dream house and every child can create their own story with as many dolls as they want.” But it is at least easy to put together. One reviewer reports their nine-year-old grandson “assembled this Barbie DreamHouse in about an hour. He said the instructions were clear and easy to understand.” The home actually belongs to his sister; this grandmother also says, “I love listening in on her dramatics while her Barbie family has parties, sleepovers, and even a wedding. The sounds, lights and music are a fun addition to her gift of imagination.” No wonder Barbie and her DreamHouse are such classics. If you're considering gifting a DreamHouse to someone on your list, catch this Walmart sale while you can.
