Matthew Lawrence Reveals Future Family Plans With Chilli Following Divorce From Cheryl Burke
His divorce from Cheryl Burke was finalized in September 2022.
Matthew Lawrence can't wait to expand his family with Chilli.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor admitted that despite being in the early stages of their relationship, he and the TLC crooner have a “game plan” to start a family together.
When asked if the couple plans on having kids, the Boy Meets World star responded, “I hope," adding, "That’s what we’re trying to do.”
Lawrence said he's already met Chili's 25-year-old son, Tron, whom she shares with ex Dallas Austin, and called him "so cool."
The 43-year-old then noted that his romance with the 52-year-old was “really, really, special,” adding that his “life is in complete bloom right now.”

“I get to spend time with an amazing woman like Chilli,” he gushed, noting, “I’ve never gotten to be able to experience that kind of relationship before.”
"She's a really, really special human being. I wish more people on the planet were like her. We'd be much better off," he added.
Lawrence and Chilli, whose real name is Rozonda Thomas, sparked romance rumors last summer, eventually confirming that they went from good friends to lovers by making their relationship Instagram official on New Year’s Eve.
“Really it was [this] flight [we were on together] talking, and then afterwards saying, ‘Hey, you know what? Let’s keep in contact,'” he explained of their chance run-in, calling the encounter “fate.”
Lawrence was previously married to Dancing with the Stars pro Cheryl Burke. The duo began dating in 2007, briefly called it quits before rekindling their romance in 2017 and tied the knot in 2019. She filed for divorce after three years of marriage, with the former couple finalizing their divorce in September 2022, allowing Lawrence's romance with Chilli to take flight.
In January 2023, Burke was awarded all ownership rights pertaining to the former couple's dog Ysabella. Per the court filing, Lawrence agreed to give up any documentation or data about the pup.
