As Hollywood megastars go, Matthew McConaughey somehow manages to be completely contemporary and comfortingly classic. He can do it all — rom-coms, dramas, biopics, period pieces, studio blockbusters, critically adored indies and prestige television — as magnetic leading man or crackerjack character player. An off-the-top-of-the-head recounting — Magic Mike, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective, Dallas Buyers Club, Dazed and Confused — just hints at how ubiquitous and versatile he is. But the Oscar-winning actor has built up a reputation for being as fun and candid off-screen as he is captivating on-screen.

Given that McConaughey tends to call it like he sees it (and how much we like looking at him), we figured he'd have some insight to share on the cool products that fuel his nighttime routine. These are his go-tos.

"My sink and my vanity in the bathroom has a whole lot more facial creams and oils than my wife’s does," McConaughey jokes. He gives this facial oil the thumbs-up. McConaughey, who serves as creative director for Wild Turkey, calls the brand's 101 Bou rb on "my favorite bourbon on the planet." McConaughey also gave the brand props for its Trust Your Spirit campaign, which selected Local Legends who showed up for the music scene in extraordinary ways at the start of the pandemic by raising funds for furloughed or unemployed musicians by offering virtual music lessons or organizing benefit concerts. The brand is giving these legends a $10,000 donation to the music-centric charity of their choice as a way to continue uplifting their local music community.

"I’ve got a toothbrush that feels so good in my mouth, I sometimes go over two minutes."
