McDonald’s Is Giving Away Free Bacon for One Hour

01/24/2019 — Mark your calendars! On Tuesday McDonald’s is giving away bacon for free—but only for one hour. The restaurant chain is hosting their version of a happy hour, appropriately titled ‘Bacon Hour.’ On January 29, head to your local McDonald’s and get a slice of thick cut, Applewood smoked bacon for free. The free bacon promotion runs from 4-5 pm local time at all participating restaurants—which includes almost every location in America.

If you thought this deal sounded too good to be true, there is a catch—you do have to order a menu item to get the free bacon, but we’ll take what we can get. And the combination possibilities are seriously endless. Add bacon to your large fry, score a piece of bacon with your coffee drink, or enjoy crispy bacon with an order of classic chicken nuggets. If you can find it on the menu, you can add bacon to it.

“I love bacon. America loves bacon. I really can’t wait to see the crazy and daring combinations our customers put together,” Michael Haracz, McDonald’s Manager of Culinary Innovation, said in a press release.

The ‘Bacon Hour’ is in celebration of McDonald’s adding bacon to their Classics menu. For a limited time, the chain will be serving the Big Mac Bacon burger, Quarter Pounder Bacon burger, and Cheesy Bacon Fries.
