McDonalds Expands Chicken Sandwich Lineup—Here's What's New

The McCrispy is McComin' for your wallet.

McDonald's is getting ready to dish out a whole new line of chicken sandwiches, in what some may toss up as an effort to be more competitive.

The McCrispy features an all-white meat chicken filet, crinkle cut pickles layered on top of a buttered potato roll. The newly trademarked sandwich is also available in Deluxe, Bacon Ranch and spicy versions, according to the company’s website.

The sandwich and accompanying entree options are already available at select restaurant locations and are set to launch across the rest of the country by Monday, Mar. 13.

Sandwich and meal prices vary by location, but in the New York City market, a McCrispy goes for around $5.49, while the spicy version is advertised at $5.69 in the app, the Deluxe version is priced at $6.59, and the Bacon Ranch sandwich is listed for $7.89. McCrispy meals are priced at $8.89 (regular), $9.19 (spicy), $9.89 (Deluxe) and $11.29 (Bacon Ranch).

The McDonald's app also notes that all but the Bacon Ranch version of the new McCrispy sandwiches (or meals) are sticking around for good and won't be available to order after midnight.

"McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich quickly became a fan-favorite when it first hit U.S. menus in 2021. And now, this beloved sandwich is joining some of our most iconic menu items — McNuggets, McMuffin, sandwiches, and McFlurry desserts — with a fresh new name: McCrispy. Earning your 'Mc' is a true McDonald’s badge of honor," the company wrote in a recent press release.

The statement continued, "To commemorate this special moment, we're rolling out two new limited time McCrispy sandwiches starting on March 13. Introducing: the Bacon Ranch McCrispy and Bacon Ranch Deluxe McCrispy."

Both sandwiches feature the brand's signature chicken fillet topped with applewood smoked bacon and a new ranch sauce served on a toasted potato roll with crinkle cut pickles, the only difference being the Bacon Ranch Deluxe McCrispy levels it up with Roma tomatoes and shredded lettuce.

While the other McCrispy sandwiches are here to stay, the Bacon Ranch is only available for a limited time or while supplies last–which explains why the company won't limit when you can order it.

Will the new McCrispy certify Mickey D's as a top contender for fried chicken alongside fast food titans like KFC–a brand that also recently overhauled its menu–and Chick-fil-A? Only time (and fans) will tell.
