McKayla Maroney Has a Message for Anyone Who Wants to Hate on Her New Look
Less than a week after silencing rumors that she'd gotten lip injections, McKayla Maroney is back with a message for anyone else who wants to criticize her for her new look.
Last weekend, the former Olympian posted a photo to Instagram along with a caption detailing why she will never apologize for "changing" as a person, because she believes it's a healthy part of growing up. In fact, McKayla says that she's never felt more like herself - and even if some people don't like it, she's totally happy with who she's become.
"Life is all about growing, evolving, and becoming more and more yourself, and these last couple years I've done nothing but that," she wrote. "I've finally gotten myself to the point where I know who I am, and what I want out life, and you can either love me, or hate me for that."
"Either way, I love you, and wish you the best," she continued, "because to me, a real role model is someone who has the courage to be exactly who they are no matter what anyone else thinks... and if I can inspire one person to live like that, then I've done my job on this planet."
Given all she's accomplished at only 20 years old, it's safe to say she's already more than succeeded.
